How To Be More Organised To Eat Healthy [FREE Meal Planner & Shopping List]

Are you finding it hard to stay on track with your meal planning or shopping lists?

It’s easy to be more organised when your life is in ‘flow’, but how can we get organised when life is busy with work and family?

We’ve all been there and it’s a hard act to juggle. This is why it’s so important to have helpful strategies to get, and stay, organised – especially in the kitchen!

From my experience working as a private healthy chef and planning meals for clients, writing down my goals with planners and checklists helps me to make everything more achievable.

It helps to break everything down into little steps so I can stay on track and accountable. When I write it all down, I can’t forget a step!

Breakdown how to prepare healthy meals

If you would like to have more routine around preparing meals and eating healthy, the following breakdown of little steps will help:

Meal planning – keep your favourite recipes together but also get inspired and search for new recipes! Have a look online or go through your favourite cookbooks. Print them out or, if you like Pinterest, pin them to a recipe board.

Shopping list – make a list of the ingredients you will need and check your cupboards, fridge and freezer for the ingredients you already have so you can avoid buying more for no reason.

Equipment – think about what equipment you might need. For example, if batch cooking you’ll need storage containers. For certain recipes you may need special equipment eg. food processor, blender for smoothies etc.

Shopping – if you’re short on time you can consider ordering your shopping online to have it delivered. Otherwise, if you have time on the weekends take your list and visit your local farmers market or supermarket and buy what you need for the week ahead.

Preparation – think about the best possible way of preparing for the week ahead. Can you batch any tasks? Can you chop and prepare vegetables on the weekend for easy meals during the week? Consider what suits your lifestyle and commitments. How much time can you allocate for cooking the meals? Can your family help? On your busy days, can you cook more the night before and use leftovers for lunch the next day?

I believe in individuality and that’s how I work with my clients. There is never only just one way of doing things. Finding the right way that will work for you is key!
